Compliance Dashboard

Enabling development teams to take quick release decisions without getting lost in compliance complexity.

Disclaimer: Some design elements have been visually adapted in this portfolio for illustrative purposes.

The goal of this project was to give development teams a way to release whenever they were ready, without compliance overhead getting in the way.

Releasing software at SAP means more than deploying code. Development teams need to verify that their release is secure and compliant before it reaches customers. That means checking reports from multiple pipelines and scanners, each living in a different tool.

To make a release decision, product owners and developers had to manually dig through several tools, pull reports, cross-reference them, and document the results. The process was slow, fragmented and required compliance knowledge that not everyone on the team had. Teams that were technically ready to ship were being slowed down by the overhead of proving it.

I worked on UX and UI design alongside user research, starting from a clear problem space and validating it through research into how teams were actually releasing their products. We ran workshops to explore how the release process could be automated and how to present data in a way that worked for different users who needed different levels of detail when making a release call. After several prototypes and iterations the solution landed as a minimal dashboard showing exactly what teams needed to judge a release, with the option to dig into detail when needed.

Development teams could release whenever they were ready without getting blocked by compliance processes. All relevant tools and services were consolidated into one view, removing the need to hunt across pipelines for information.
